Utah Education Day Set For October 18

UHE is hosting a one-day, on-location workshop featuring Ian R. Lazarus on Wednesday, October 18th, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Silver Baron Lodge at Deer Valley in Park City. Lazarus will discuss “Three Critical Elements to Sustainable Improvement Capability.” Cost of the program is $685 and attendees will receive six Face-to-Face credit hours for attending.

Ian Lazarus has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, starting as one of the first employees at VHA Inc. and later in senior roles at McKesson and Kaiser Permanente. For 18 years he has led Creative Healthcare in Solana Beach, CA to become a leading provider of performance improvement solutions to the healthcare sector. He has penned articles for Managed Healthcare, Becker’s Hospital Review and The Journal of Healthcare Management. In 2015 he earned ACHE’s Exemplary Service Award for years of voluntary service.

During his remarks, Lazarus will provide strategies and practices to significantly enhance your organization’s ability to improve and sustain. Participants will learn to:

  • Identify the methods and techniques employed to support performance improvement initiatives in healthcare, with specific focus on Lean and Six Sigma;
  • Discuss the business case for portfolio management, how it functions and how it guides the organization to do things right, while doing the right things; and
  • Implement change management techniques designed to maximize positive interactions at all levels of the organization.
